First Fall Chess Tournament

In response to the chess club members' requests, a mini-chess tournament was held to increase experience for all of the players.

First place winnter in the Advanced Bracket, Rushabh Mehta and Chess Club President Eamon Kalafchi.

Through ongoing open discussions and feedback from each of the club members, the president Eamon Kalafchi led the coordination of a mini-tournament this past Friday, October 14, 2016.  The tournament had 20 players rise to the challenge, eager to test their skills and strategical techniques.  Out of all of the entrants, in the Advanced Bracket, Rushabh Mehta won first place followed by Anil Ku Mullapudi in second place.  For the Intermediate Bracket, Evan Cornish won first place with Sariramrajiv "Raj" Karri placing second.  Congratulations to the winners and all the players for a well-played tournament! 


The chess club officers will organize future tournaments, so be on the lookout for new opportunities to challenge other players!  The club welcomes all levels of players, so do not be shy!   The organization is here to help individuals grow as chess players in a socially fun environment.
